SmartCloud Lab conducts research on distributed computing and cloud technologies for training ultra-large-scale AI models using large-scale cluster systems such as supercomputers.

Specifically, the research is centered on the following three areas: 1) Research on AI and MLOps frameworks in cloud-native environments is conducted. 2) Research on high-performance computing (HPC) elemental technologies oriented toward container-based AI systems is conducted. 3) Research on lightweight container technologies for low-power devices, aimed at improving efficiency by integrating cloud and edge computing resources, is conducted.
